— A 15-year-old driver caused a crash Sunday evening on Highway 22 when he failed to yield to another car, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Antonio Brito-Rivera is being blamed for the 5:54 p.m. wreck that sent both the Prosser teen and the other driver to PMH Medical Center in Prosser with injuries.

According to the state patrol, Brito-Rivera was northbound on Richards Road when he failed to stop for traffic on Highway 22, two miles west of Prosser.

Brito-Rivera’s 1996 Honda Accord drove into the path of a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu, which was heading west on the highway.

Alejandrina Bruno, 34, of Prosser, was behind the wheel of the Chevrolet when it hit the Honda.

Brito-Rivera, who was cited for failure to yield, was taken to the hospital by a private party, while Bruno went in an ambulance. Both drivers were wearing seat belts in the crash.
