Tri-City held to one hit in 1-0 road loss to Vancouver

Tri-City HeraldJune 28, 2014

The Vancouver Canadians nearly no-hit the Tri-City Dust Devils during a 1-0 Northwest League victory Saturday at Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver.

Instead they settled for a one-hitter, as Jairo Labourt, Andrew Case and Brett Barber combined to silence the Dust Devils’ bats.

Labourt tossed six no-hit innings for the Canadians, but Case allowed the first hit of the game to Josh Fuentes in the top of the seventh.

Meanwhile, Tri-City pitchers didn’t do so bad themselves, allowing just one run on six hits between starter Helmis Rodriguez and Logan Sawyer.

Sean Hurley drove in the only run of the game in the bottom of the sixth, singling home Franklin Barreto.
