Pasco power restored after utility work causes outage

Tri-City HeraldJune 25, 2014

Difficulties with a Franklin PUD maintenance project left an estimated 1,000 customers in Pasco without power Wednesday morning.

Power was lost about 8:47 a.m. and fully restored at 11:12 a.m. in the area of Fourth Avenue to 20th Avenue and from West Court Street to Interstate 182. The outage disabled stoplights on 20th and Fourth Avenue at the exits from Interstate 182.

Franklin PUD was working on some planned improvements Wednesday morning, and the power system was in an abnormal configuration that put the load on one feeder, when the feeder went out, according to the public utility district.
