Police: Inattention causes two-car crash on I-182 in Pasco

June 24, 2014

— A driver who failed to slow for construction struck another car Tuesday on Interstate 182 in Pasco, the Washington State Patrol said.

Gary H. McCourt, 66, of Kennewick, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup when he hit a 2002 Buick LeSabre driven by Patsy S. Bolson, 40, of Pasco, the state patrol said.

Both cars were driving east on I-182 in the left lane just before 4 p.m., approaching Highway 395. Bolson slowed for construction but McCourt did not, the state patrol said.

Bolson was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco with unknown injuries. McCourt wasn’t injured. The state patrol said inattention caused the wreck and McCourt will be cited for negligent driving.
