Tri-City HeraldJune 24, 2014

— A suspect armed with a handgun robbed a Kennewick convenience store Monday night.

The male came into Mr. E’s Food Mart on South Union Street around 9:30 p.m. wearing a white bandana over his face, police said. He demanded money and pointed the gun at a clerk.

The suspect gave the clerk a plastic bag to put money in and walked around the counter to grab three packs of cigarettes, police said. He then ran from the store eastbound on 4th Avenue.

Officers arrived and used a police dog to search for the suspect, but the track ended near Highlands Middle School.

Police are looking for the suspect, who is described as between 16 and 20-years-old, 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball hat and dark blue athletic shorts with a vertical white stripe.

Police could release video of the robbery later today.
