June 24, 2014

A three car accident Monday sent two Richland women to the hospital, one of whom faces negligent driving charges, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Michael J. Jungers, 49, driving a 2008 Ford Focus, was stopped at the traffic light at Duportail Road and Aaron Drive on Highway 240 at about 5:25 p.m., and Jasmine K. Rives, 17, driving a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero, was stopped behind Jungers when a 2003 Toyota Celica driven by Diana L. Gulchuk, 19, slammed into the rear end of Rives vehicle. Rives car then pushed into the rearend of Jungers car, the WSP said.

Both female drivers were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Jungers was not injured.

Cause of the crash was inattention and Gulchuk faces negligent driving charges, the WSP reported.
