Kennewick police investigating attempted kidnapping

A man attempted to kidnap a Kennewick woman Sunday night in the parking lot of the Fred Meyer at West 10th Avenue and Highway 395, the Kennewick police reported.

Officers were called to the site about 6:30 p.m. after a 65-year-old woman reported that an unidentified black male in his early to mid-20s got into her vehicle, grabbed her and threatened her.

The woman fought him off and fled into the building, police said.

She sustained minor injuries.
