Letter Best: D.C. football

June 22, 2014

The uproar over the name of a football team in the nation's capital is exactly what it seems -- petty. However, I propose that there is a viable solution.

The owner of the team, unnamed to not offend anyone, should apologize to the city, the senators and the Trade Commission, and agree to change the name. Furthermore, to erase the apparent stain on the "good" name of the city, and in order to have a fresh start, relocate the team to another city where they might be welcome. Los Angeles comes to mind, since they haven't had a team since the Raiders and Rams left.

Problem solved.
