Sidewalk art disappeared too quickly

June 21, 2014

Richland recently sponsored a chalk art contest in the Uptown shopping district. After church the next morning, I went to look at the work of many people.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that everything had been washed away. For those of us who were unable to look at the artists' colorful work on Saturday, it was very disappointing to find nothing there.

I can understand the merchants not wanting the residue tracked into their stores, but one day? Couldn't cleaning the sidewalks wait one more day?

Thanks, merchants, for your consideration.
