Weather expected to be hot, sunny for start of summer

Hot and sunny weather is in the Tri-City forecast for the first weekend of summer.

The National Weather Service is predicting a high of about 81 on Saturday -- the first day of summer -- rising to 87 on Sunday.

Normal highs for June are about 86 at the end of the month.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the 90s at the start of the work week. Skies could be partly cloudy Monday and Tuesday.
