KENNEWICK POLICE

— Police want help tracking down a suspect in multiple break-ins in the Kennewick area.

Dwayne M. Bateman, 32, broke into two houses within hours of each other on June 13, police said. Home owners were able to scare Bateman off in both cases.

Around 4:50 a.m., a resident on the 2200 block of S. Lyle St. found Bateman in his garage, police said. The pair fought and Bateman ran off.

A short while later, at 8:11 a.m., a resident on the 900 block of W. 25th Ave. confronted Bateman after he broke into the house through a sliding glass door, police said. The resident was able to chase Bateman away.

Police did not release if Bateman allegedly stole anything from the houses.

Police have probable cause to arrest Bateman for burglary.
