Hanford Reach in Richland to hold 2 events in June

The public is invited to a pair of events at the Hanford Reach Interpretive Center in Richland ahead of its July opening.

A special preview and reception celebrating the center's agriculture exhibit is from 5 to 7 p.m. June 27.

The event will include hors d'oeuvres and Mid-Columbia wines provided by 3 Eyed Fish Wine Bar. Cost is $80.

An event celebrating the passing of the mantle from the Columbia River Exhibition of History, Science and Technology, or CREHST, to the Reach center is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 30. It'll include a reception and tour, a color guard procession and 21-gun salute as the flag is raised for the first time over the Reach center. The guest of honor is U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Pasco.

Cost is $25 for CREHST and Reach members and $50 for others. Light fare and sparkling cider will be served.
