Sockeye salmon from Columbia Basin for sale in Richland

Tribes will be catching sockeye salmon in the Columbia Basin and selling them commercially this week and next.

Some of the salmon could be sold at Columbia Point in Richland. Sales are usually from 10 a.m. to dusk with only cash accepted. Buyers should bring a cooler with ice. Information on where salmon are being sold daily might be available by calling 888-289-1855.

Tribes could harvest about 18,500 summer chinook and 24,000 sockeye throughout the summer, with peak availability in the next two to three weeks.
