Dust Devils pick up first win

Michael Tauchman scored on a Francisco Sosa sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th inning as the Tri-City Dust Devils picked up their first win of the season Monday, beating the host Boise Hawks 4-3.

The teams will play the final game of their five-game series at 11:15 a.m. today. The Dust Devils’ home opener is Wednesday against the Everett AquaSox.

Tri-City (1-3) trailed 3-1 after six innings, but rallied for two runs in the seventh to tie the score.

Ryan Garvey went 2-for-5 with a triple for the Dust Devils, while Drew added a double and an RBI.

Carlos Yan pitched the ninth — with two strikeouts — for the win, while Scott Firth picked up his first save.

Boise (3-1), which leads the NWL North Division, got two hits each from Kyle Schwarber, Daniel Canela and Rashad Crawford.
