Richland swimmer headed to Special Olympics nationals

June 12, 2014

Richland’s Amanda Bratton will fly back east Saturday to take part in the 2014 Special Olympics USA National Games in Princeton, N.J.

Bratton, 22, will take part in the weeklong games starting Monday, competing in the 100-yard freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley.

The sister of Texas A&M-bound swimmer Lisa Bratton, who won multiple state titles for Richland High, Amanda won gold in the Special Olympics state competition last summer to qualify for nationals.
