By The Tri-City HeraldJune 12, 2014

Business owners in Washington are responsible for knowing which taxes to report.

To help them better understand the process, the Kennewick office of the Washington State Department of Revenue will offer a free workshop for new and small business owners from 9 a.m. to noon June 19 at the Labor and Industries building, 4310 W. 24th Ave. in Kennewick.

Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements. All participants receive a workbook and helpful reference guide to Department of Revenue rules and regulations.

To register or to learn more, call 509-987-1201 or go to the Department of Revenue website at www.dor.wa.gov.
