Letter: Residency programs lauded

June 11, 2014

Kudos to Kadlec for establishing a Family Medicine Residency Program that will eventually train 18 medical doctors and/or osteopathic doctors (six new residents per year) to help fill the upcoming void for qualified doctors to serve as primary care physicians. There is an urgent need to train doctors in this vital field, particularly as our population ages and grows.

Thanks also to Trios for already starting its family practice residency program, which will train three new doctors each year. We can all hope that many of these doctors will choose to remain in the Northwest to work and raise their families.
