Music in the Park begins June 16 in Boardman, Irrigon

Dori O'Neal, Tri-City HeraldJune 11, 2014

Music feeds the soul, especially during the summer when you can sit outdoors in a park with the Columbia River flowing nearby.

That's why the Boardman Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Music in the Park Summer Concert Series each year featuring an eclectic mix of musicians from across the Northwest.

The concerts are each Monday at 7 p.m., starting June 16. They take turns at Marina Park in Boardman, 1 Marine Drive N.W., or Marina Park in Irrigon at the end of N.E. 10th Street. Admission is free.

Here's the lineup:

-- June 16: Slipshod country rock band in Boardman.

-- June 23: Brassfire, a nine-piece horn band that plays jazz, funk, blues, rock and swing music in Irrigon.

-- June 30: The Trio in Boardman.
