Mid-Columbia under red flag fire warning

The Mid-Columbia will be under a red flag fire warning from 2 to 8 p.m. today because of wind and low humidity, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds of 6 to 14 mph are expected during the day in the Tri-Cities building to up to 16 mph with gusts as high as 29 mph this evening, according to the weather service.

Thursday morning also is expected to be windy.
