Walla Walla police warn of tainted meat

Tri-City HeraldJune 6, 2014

— Walla Walla police are warning that spoiled meat taken from a garbage can might be resold.

A resident notified police Friday morning that boxes of Omaha steaks, burgers, coconut shrimp and privately packaged beef and pork had been taken from his garbage can overnight.

He had thrown the meat away because it had thawed in a faulty freezer and then refrozen.

He notified police out of concern that someone might try to eat or sell the tainted meat.
