Washtucna man could face charges in death

By The Tri-City HeraldJune 5, 2014

A Washtucna man is being held at the Adams County jail while prosecutors decide if they will file charges in the death of a 70-year-old former Tri-City man.

Larry Eugene Turner, 60, was arrested after Ronnie Dick was found dead Tuesday on Turner's property, Sheriff John Hunt said. It appears Dick, 70, was shot.

Hunt said he wanted to wait until after an autopsy Saturday to possibly release details.

Dick was a retired rural mail carrier who worked out of the former Pasco mail handling facility.

Turner called police about the shooting after the two men reportedly had a disagreement, Hunt said. He was arrested Tuesday after a short standoff with authorities.

Turner and Dick were acquaintances who lived close to one another, Hunt said.

Turner appeared in court Thursday and is being held in jail on a 72-hour investigative hold, Hunt said.
