Walla Walla man re-arrested after just one day out of jail

By The Tri-City HeraldJune 5, 2014

A Walla Walla man was out of jail for only a day before he was arrested Thursday in connection with a home invasion.

Police arrested Jesus Sosa Pavon after a short chase in a stolen SUV, said Tim Bennett, police spokesman. Pavon was booked into the Walla Walla County jail on suspicion of residential burglary and vehicle theft.

Pavon was released from the county jail Wednesday after he was arrested for possessing a stolen vehicle from California.

Police were called Thursday morning to a house on the 400 block of North Fifth Avenue for a report of a break-in, Bennett said. An officer saw Pavon getting into a Ford Expedition reported stolen earlier in the day.

Pavon then led police on a chase before abandoning the SUV and running, Bennett said. Officers used a police dog to search for Pavon, and he was arrested a few minutes later.
