Three injured in crash near Richland

June 5, 2014

— A woman and two kids were taken to a Kennewick hospital Thursday morning following a car crash on Interstate 182 near Richland.

Jeanne E. Seger, an 8-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl were taken to Trios Health after the car they were in crashed into a semi truck, according to the Washington State Patrol. All three are from Benton City.

Seger, 31, tried to pass the semi while heading west, lost control and crashed into the semi, which was carrying two trailers, state patrol said. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Troopers said equipment on the Chevy Cavalier failed, causing Seger to lose control and crash.

Everyone involved in the collision was wearing a seat belt, state patrol said. The Cavalier was totaled and towed from the scene.
