Police find shell casings after report of shots fired in Walla Walla

Tri-City HeraldJune 4, 2014

— Police found several shells from a handgun after citizens reported hearing gunshots Tuesday night in Walla Walla.

No injuries were reported and officers didn’t find any damaged property, said Tim Bennett, police spokesman.

A group of people, possibly two females and a male, were seen running from the area of First Avenue and Chestnut Street, Bennett said. Police are unsure if they were involved in the apparent shooting.

A red, four-door sedan was also seen leaving the area where the shots were fired.

Police do not think the incident is gang related at this time, Bennett said. This is the ninth report of shots being fired in Walla Walla since May.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Walla Walla police at 509-524-4381.
