Former Tri-Citian found shot to death near Washtucna, suspect in custody

— A 60-year-old man is suspected of shooting another man to death near Washtucna in Adams County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Larry Turner was arrested late Tuesday night after a short stand off with authorities on Austin Road, just north of Washtucna, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities found Ronnie Dick, 70, dead at the scene on Austin Road, the sheriff’s office said. It appears he died of gunshot wounds and an autopsy will be performed soon.

Dick, a former Tri-Citian, is a retired rural mail carrier who worked out of the Pasco mail handling facility.

No other information about the shooting was released by the sheriff’s department.

The agency is investigating the incident with assistance from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab.
