Sculptor installing metal artwork in Kennewick roundabout (w/video)

June 3, 2014

Portland sculptor Ivan McLean, right, and his friend, Craig Leaper, wrestle with a gas-engine powered post hole digger Tuesday morning while working on the installation of his sculpture called Spheres in the new roundabout at West 45th Avenue and South Olympia Street. McLean's welded steel sculpture is seven spheres ranging in size from four-feet to nearly eight-feet in diameter. The are set in concrete near ground level, which will be covered with basalt rock.
