Letter: Inaccurate letter

June 3, 2014

I am disappointed that the Tri-City Herald has violated its own policy of not printing letters that "contain significant factual errors." Mark Edison's letter on May 28 asserted that President Obama had skipped going to visit the D-Day Monument the last four years and that Edison hoped every person would take note.

The assertion is false and so easily fact checked that it is ridiculous. I hope every person is reminded that you can't believe everything you read. The Herald was sadly short in meeting its obligation.

Tri-City Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
