Walla Walla man injured after leaping from motorcycle

— A Walla Walla man was injured Sunday morning after he lost control of his motorcycle on Highway 261 about 14 miles south of Washtucna.

Harvey H. Howell, 43, was driving northbound on Highway 261 in Franklin County near Nunamaker Road at about 8:45 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say Howell was driving at a high speed while approaching a curve, lost control and jumped off of his motorcycle. The motorcycle landed down an embankment, according to Washington State Patrol.

He was wearing a helmet.

Howell was transported to Richland’s Kadlec Regional Medical Center, where he was in a satisfactory condition Sunday afternoon.

He was charged in connection with speeding too fast for conditions, according to Washington State Patrol.
