Food For Thought: Wine & Dine Club meeting June 1

Loretto J. Hulse, Tri-City HeraldMay 27, 2014

Anyone who enjoys sharing fine wine and food with others who appreciate them is invited to join members of the Tri-Cities Wine & Dine Club at 6 p.m. June 1.

The club has invited Spring Valley Vineyard winemaker Serge Laville of Walla Walla to feature his wines at a special dinner at Monterosso's Italian Restaurant in Richland.

Monterosso's Executive Chef Adam Carr will prepare an exclusive menu for the evening. Check it out at Spring Valley Vineyard's website at

Anyone wishing to attend needs to call Monterosso's for reservations, 509-946-4525.

The club is a loosely formed group of wine lovers who meet three or four times a year at a restaurant to share wines and food.

"The club has no financial interest. We just love the wines and food without the hassle of doing the work in our own homes. Suffice it to say, it is a blast. We have had some wonderful wineries join us and wanted to get the word out," said John Plasker of Pasco.

The group has been meeting occasionally for about two years.

"We're pretty casual. We'll organize two or three dinners in a row and then not do any for six months," he said.

All the dinners so far have been at Monterosso's because the chef and owner have been so easy to work with, Plasker said.

The only drawback is that seating in the vintage railcar is limited.
