LEGION BASEBALL: Hammitt, Serkowski lead Jr. Flames

Trevor Hammitt drove in three runs for the Hanford Junior Flames in a pair of victories at the Duster Memorial Day tournament at LaPierre Field in Kennewick. Hammitt had a two-run double in a 6-2 win over University and then drove in another in a 13-11 win over Coeur d’Alene.

Jason Serkowski added two RBIs against Coeur d’Alene.

The Kennewick Pepsi Cola Dusters got three RBIs from Nate Gee in a 14-0 win over Ferris and will face the Kennewick Dusters at 12:30 p.m. in the semifinals.

The Dusters got a complete-game win from Hunter Mulderig, who chalked up six strikeouts as well as an RBI in a 2-1 win over University.

The Flames will play in today’s semifinals against Mead at 2:45 p.m. A win will earn Hanford a berth in the 5 p.m. championship game between the PC Dusters and Dusters.
