Kennewick — A suspect in a Federal Way homicide was arrested Saturday after local and state authorities surrounded an apartment in Kennewick.
Bernard Bellerouche, 27, was arrested at a duplex on the 3600 block of W. Seventh Ave. around 3:15 p.m., police said. He was taken into custody without incident.
Bellerouche was wanted in connection with the shooting death of a man in Federal Way on May 7, police said. Police say he shot George Gabrial, 22, in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Gabrial was an active-duty Marine and was gunned down on his birthday, according to Crime Stoppers. He was found shot in his car shortly after 1 a.m.
Bellerouche is also a person of interest in another homicide in Federal Way on May 13 and a shooting in Des Moines on May 12. Demario Washington, 27, was the victim in the other homicide. He was shot in apartment complex parking lot about five blocks from where Gabrial was killed.
Members of the Tri-Cities Regional SWAT Team surrounded the duplex, along with Kennewick police, Federal way police, members of the Benton County Sheriffs Office and U.S. Marshals.
Bellerouche is being held at the Benton County jail.
