School's nearly out and it's likely your kids will be looking for something fun to do this summer. Here are some camps offered in the area:

--Kennewick School District will offer a variety of youth academic, athletic and music camps over the summer. Camps range in targeted age groups and will run from late June to mid-August.

Activities: The list includes but is not limited to: 21st Century Summer School Program, Band Camp, Strength/Speed/Plyometric Training, Athletic Development Camp, Basketball Camp, Volleyball Camp, Football Camp and more.

-- Kennewick Parks and Recreation's All Inclusive Summer Fun Day Camp runs from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and from 3-5:30 p.m. weekdays June 18-Aug. 15.

Activities: Trips, crafts, science/cooking projects, reading. Kids will learn the importance of not bullying.

Cost: $658 for city residents, $911 for others.

-- Summer Reading and Spelling Camp for students in second grade through high school from 8:15 a.m.-noon weekdays from June 17-July 15 at Southside Church, 517 Jadwin Ave., Richland.

Cost: $6 an hour, $400 for 60 hours.

-- Columbia Basin Racquet Club offers a variety of Kid's Club Camp for ages 4-13 from 6:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. June 11-Aug. 29 at 1776 Terminal Drive, Richland.

Activities: Arts and crafts, health and nutrition, swimming, rockwall climbing, kids' fitness, racquetball, gym games, kayaking, guest speakers, weekly field trips. Every day of camp includes playing at the Pelican Bay water park.

Cost: Daily rate for members is $40, $45 for others. Subtract $2 for each sibling per day. Weekly rate for members is $160, $180 for others. Subtract $10 for each sibling per week.

-- Tri-City Court Club Adventure Camp for ages 6-13 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays from June 16-Aug. 22 at 1350 N. Grant St. in Kennewick.

Activities: Trips to the fair, mini golf, bowling, movies, park, roller skating, ice skating and kayaking, as well as activities at the club including Splash Down Cove Water Park, indoor rock climbing, gym games, indoor swimming pools, tennis, racquetball, cooking classes and arts/crafts.

Cost: Prices vary. Registration and information packets available at the Tri-City Court Club. Call 783-5465.

The court club also offers preschool for kids ages 3-5. Sessions will be from noon-2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, June 10-26, July 8-24 and August 5-21. Cost per session is $115 for members, $130 for others.

Junior tennis camps: June 16-26, June 30-July 10, July 14-24, July 28-Aug. 7, Aug. 11-21. Times and prices vary.

One Day Sports and Fitness series: 1-2:30 p.m. for kids ages 6-15, divided into groups according to age. The sports camp will focus on improving specific sport skills, coordination, strength and confidence. Volleyball (children entering grades 6-8), June 24; zumbatomic (ages 10-14), July 8; zumbatomic (ages 6-9), July 15; rock climbing (ages 10-15), July 22; basketball (ages 10-15), July 29. -- Mid-Columbia Gymnastics Academy summer camps from June 16-Aug. 22.

Activities: Gymnastics camps for boys and girls ages 5-12 from noon-3 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; cost is $22 per camp per day. For ages 3-4, camps are 12:30-2:30 p.m. Mondays and/or Wednesdays; cost is $18 per camp per day.

Tumbling camps for ages 6-11 from noon-2 p.m. Tuesdays and for ages 11-18 from noon-2 p.m. Mondays. Cost is $18 per camp per day.

Cheer camps for ages 6-12 from noon-2 p.m. Mondays. Cost is $18 per camp per day.

-- Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays from June 9-Aug. 22 at two locations, James McGee Elementary School, 4601 Horizon Drive, Pasco, and the group's main branch, 801 N. 18th Ave., Pasco.

Activities: Field trips include mini golf, swimming, roller skating and bowling.

Cost: $30 per child or $50 per family. Cost is $85 for any three days or $120 for 4-5 days. Department of Social and Health Services vouchers are accepted.

-- YMCA of the Greater Tri-Cities from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. June 16-Aug. 22 for kids ages 5-12.

Activities: Weekly field trips and activities designed for each age group.

Cost: From $130 a week to $175 a week.

-- Local artist Lisa Day will hold youth-oriented art classes at her home studio in West Richland throughout June, July and August for kids ages 6-14. Classes include paper crafts, paper mache, jewelry, sculptures, tile painting, snow globes, pottery and painting.

Cost: $100 per person. Times and dates vary.

-- Fame Camp from 12:30-5 p.m. weekdays from July 14-26 in the Hanford High auditorium in Richland.

Activities: Summer theater day camp run by the Hanford High Drama Club. Students entering seventh, eighth and ninth grades participate in singing, dancing, acting, make-up, costuming and lighting and sound classes.

Cost: $325; payment plans and scholarships are available.

-- The Richland School District has compiled a list of local athletic and academic camps in Richland this summer. There are camps for children of all ages. Some camps include: Happy Horse Riding School, chess classes, sports clinics, a shooting clinic, Marimba Band Classes, pole vaulting, FallOut CrossFit for Kids and Teens and Boomerang Express Vacation Bible School.

-- Kountry Kidz Horse Camp from 9 a.m.-noon June 9-13 and from 8-11 a.m. Aug. 4-8.

Activities: Learning basic horsemanship, grooming, feeding, saddling and riding. Participants will also learn about barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and trail class. Helmets and boots are required.

Cost: $200 per person.

-- Corbie Arts will provide three workshops for children K-5 from 10 a.m.-noon and from 2-4 p.m. July 15-17 (Art Around the World), July 29-31 (Modern Masters) and Aug. 5-7 (topic to be decided) at Columbia Bible Church, 202 S. Van Buren., Kennewick.

Cost: $50 per session, with a 10 percent sibling discount and 20 percent discount for those who participate in all three sessions.

-- The Academy of Children's Theatre offers weekly theater camps throughout summer for children ages 3-18. Courses are themed and grouped by age.

Activities: Include puppetry, improvisation, theater sports, Jedi Academy, Princess Academy, musical theater, superheroes, melodrama, stage combat and Harry Potter.

Classes that will end in a performance on stage for families and friends include:

SummerStage: Camp Rock the Musical. Available to grades 4-12 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. August 4-16. Cost: $235.

Rascal's Review: The Story of Stone Soup. Available to grades 1-3 from 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. August 11-16. Cost: $128.

PreStage: Aesop's Fables. Available to PreK-K from 9-11 a.m. August 11-16. Cost: $74.

High School Theatre Camp. Available to grades 10-12 from 12:45 p.m.-5 p.m. July 7-11. Cost: $275. Comprehensive theater classes in drama, vocals, improv, dance and tech.

Spectrum on Stage: Theater camp for students on the autism spectrum. July 21-August 1. Call 943-6027.

Cost: $47 to $235. ACT is at 213 Wellsian Way, Richland.

--The Arc of Tri-Cities is hosting Partners N Pals, an inclusive summer camp. Campers include kids with disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and ADHD, as well as children without disabilities.

Sessions: Camp for children ages 2-7 runs from 9-11:30 a.m. for eight weeks, June 23 to Aug. 14. Two sessions are offered each week: Session A on Monday and Wednesday and Session B on Tuesday and Thursday. Cost is $35 per session per week. One-on-one supervision is available for $55 per session per week. Camp will be at the Children’s Developmental Center, 1549 Georgia Ave. in Richland.

Camp for those ages 7-21 runs from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday for eight weeks, June 22 to Aug. 13. Transportation is available within city limits. Cost is $135 per week, and one-on-one supervision is available for $295 per session per week. Camp will be held in Richland and Pasco.
