Thankful Thursday: Surprise at the drive-thru

May 22, 2014

On Thursday, May 15, I enjoyed a very pleasant surprise. It was the warmest day of the year so far and I decided not to cook dinner but to go out to eat. A hamburger sounded good, so I went to McDonalds on Torbet and Thayer in Richland to the drive-up window. I ordered and when I asked what I owed the young man said "nothing." He said the lady two cars ahead of me had paid my bill. She said that she was a former student at Hanford High School and I was her principal. What a sweet thoughtful gesture from a student I knew 24 or 25 years ago. But who?

Thank you so much. Best hamburger I ever had!
