Thankful Thursday: 'Wizard' was wonderful

May 22, 2014

On Saturday afternoon, May 10, I had the privilege of seeing Richland High School's production of The Wizard of Oz. This was one of the most ambitious productions by a high school group I have seen in a long time.

The director, Ellicia Mertens Elliott, did a masterful job of bringing out the best of every person on stage. The set design, costumes, choreography and special effects were spectacular.

If you missed this show, please keep your eyes out for future shows by our local schools. Believe me, you won't be disappointed and your attendance will give these students the positive feedback they deserve for all of their efforts and hard work.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this truly wonderful show. I hope the people of the Tri-Cities will continue to offer their support and encouragement to all of our schools and their arts programs.
