Kennewick sex offender living on the streets, officials say

Tri-City HeraldMay 21, 2014

A sex offender who registered in Kennewick this month is now a transient living on the streets, according to law enforcement officials.

Michael Sterling Patterson, 40, a Level 3 offender, was convicted in 2002 of three counts of third-degree child rape in Columbia County, officials said. He failed to register as a sex offender in Franklin County earlier this month.

Level 3 offenders are considered the most likely to reoffend and their basic information is routinely posted on county websites.

Patterson is under Department of Corrections' supervision.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the sex offender registration office at 509-735-6555, ext. 384.
