Letter: Pasco's iPads are an 'iWaste' of money

May 20, 2014

Three words come to mind as I read about Pasco School District's decision to spend a million bucks on iPads "to help students ... maintain reading and math skills." Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

In the olden days, this type of egregious mismanagement of resources would justify an old-fashioned flogging. Are you kidding me? Twelve hundred students? A million bucks? To put books and math in digital format? Again, this is a classic case of government employees wasting money that they neither earned nor deserve.

Pasco residents should be furious and whoever made the final decision on this should lose his or her job. What an embarrassing waste!
