After-dark fun run set Friday at Toyota Center in Kennewick

By the Herald staffMay 19, 2014

Get ready to run -- and glow -- in the dark. And you'll be supporting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals in Central Washington while you do it.

The Neon Vibe 5K run and walk takes place after dark Friday at the Toyota Center in Kennewick. Participants run to upbeat dance music as they are splashed with neon, fluorescent powder and pass through an ultraviolet black light pathway with glow-zones.

For more information or to register, go to Enter the coupon code NEONKIDS to receive $5 off registration. That money supports Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, the CMN affiliate for Central Washington.

Some roads around the Toyota Center will be closed from 8 to 10:30 p.m. during the run.

The closures will affect West Grandridge Boulevard, West Rio Grande Avenue and West Okanogan Avenue, said Tijs Sirrine, event director for the Neon Vibe 5K.
