Tri-City HeraldMay 19, 2014

Traffic was backed up for about two hours Monday in the eastbound lanes of Highway 240 from Edison Street to Steptoe Street exit after a semi rolled over on the exit ramp to Columbia Center Boulevard, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Burgess T. Crandall, 62, of Umatilla, was injured and taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland after rolling the 2003 Freightliner tractor and utility trailer, state police said. He was driving east on Highway 240.

Catherine E. Orcutt, 53, of Kent, driving a 2006 Nissan Murano north on Columbia Center Boulevard, hit the trailer pulled by Crandall’s truck but was not injured, state police said.

The truck, registered to Oakdell Egg Farms of Pasco, was carrying 30,000 pounds of fencing materials.

The crash is still under investigation.
