Brother allegedly shoots brother in Mattawa

— A man was shot in the leg multiple times while arguing with his brother at a home near Mattawa, Grant County sheriff’s officials say.

The incident was reported about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 21200 block of Road 24.7 SW.

The injured man, 30, was found inside the residence. The suspect also remained at the scene, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The 32-year-old suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree assault and domestic violence.

The gunshot victim was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. An update on his condition was not immediately available this morning.

The sheriff’s office did not disclose details about the argument.
