Portland author Ross Eliot will give a talk on his newly released memoir, "Babette: The Many Lives, Two Deaths and Double Kidnapping of Dr. Ellsworth" at 4 p.m. Friday at Adventures Underground Bookstore, 1391 George Washington Way in Richland.

Eliot's book captures the exciting, almost unbelievable life of Dr. Ellsworth, a college professor who boasts a childhood among Southern French high society, connections with the Rajneesh Puram cult, membership in a Benedictine convent and more.
