Letter: Animal drop off

May 14, 2014

I'm writing in regard to efforts to get new security cameras for the animal shelter. Let's look at the big picture and look for a solution. What would be the result of the new cameras? People would no longer dump their unwanted pets at the shelter. True. The problem is that they would just find some other place to dump them. This is not a solution. Maybe the shelter should think about providing a safe place for people who are overwhelmed and don't know what to do to leave their unwanted pets with no questions asked.

While it's true that some people shouldn't own pets, we need to focus on how things are and look for a solution instead of looking to punish desperate people for not acting as we think they should. We need to focus on a solution and deal with life as it is. Reality -- what a concept. Thanks for listening. Just my opinion.
