Letter: Approve safety tax

May 13, 2014

Vote yes for the public safety tax. This measure has been studied by various local key personnel and deemed neessary for our future.

w It is a sales and use tax, not a property tax.

w The amount of the measure is 0.3 percent or three pennies on a $10 purchase.

w It will expire in 10 years.

w It will provide an increase of 15 Kennewick police officers to help fight crime.

We need to pass this tax to continue to have a safe place for our families, our children and maintain our quality of life. Please for "yes" during the August 5 primary election.
