Surface treatment could influence Benton County roads starting Tuesday

Herald staffMay 11, 2014

A contractor could begin doing a surface treatment on some Benton County roads as early as Tuesday, a news release said.

Several county roads north and south of Reata Road will be affected, along with roads south of Interstate 82, including Clodfelter Road south to Tripple Vista, south to Locust Grove, west to Plymouth Road, east to Bofer Canyon Road and south to Coffin Road, the release said.

Granite Construction of Yakima will do the work. The project is expected to take about four weeks. Drivers should expect some delays, reduced speeds and fresh oil and loose gravel on roadways, the news release said.

Residents should keep vehicles and other objects off the shoulders between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for safety and to cut down on delays.

Call the county's public works department at 736-3084 with questions or concerns.
