Letter: Recriminalize marijuana

May 10, 2014

The effects of the stupid legalization of pot in Washington and Colorado -- the domino effect will reach out across other states. You people who voted for its legalization are creating a nation of zombies. Consider the recent conviction of Joshua Snapp's murderers from Richland, who where stoned on pot when committing this vicious and senseless crime. Yeah, their young minds were messed up on pot.

Within the last week, I've heard a story about a 10-year-old boy in Colorado buying and selling pot to his fellow students. Odd this incident never got into our local newspaper. One case still bothers me, concerning one 19-year-old boy who had been smoking weed since he was 14. He was incapable of maintaining a job as he was always stoned. One afternoon, I get a call: "naked man in the street." Upon my arrival, there was this poor soul with his mother standing nearby with tears running down her cheeks. We took him into custody and the court sent him to some institution.

Money grabbing politicians and legislators only see revenue coming into their states and not the damage it's doing to our youth. This law should be repealed.
