Man injured during fall from dumpster to garbage truck

Tri-City HeraldMay 9, 2014

— A man was injured after a garbage truck picked up the dumpster he was sleeping in and dropped him more than 10 feet.

Justin Neiman was in the dumpster at 1508 W. Seventh Ave. when a garbage truck came to empty it around 7:20 a.m., police said. After the trash was dumped into the truck, the driver spotted Neiman in a mirror.

The driver immediately turned off the truck.

Neiman jumped out of the truck and started yelling at the driver, police said. He argued that the dumpster didn’t have a “no trespassing” sign and he was allowed to sleep there.

Police arrived and took Neiman to the hospital for minor injuries. He was cited from criminal trespassing.
