Frances Ha entertaining comedy but not many ha-has

Gary Wolcott, atomictown.comMay 8, 2014

Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) and Greta Gerwig co-wrote this Baumbach-directed flick about a ditzy 20-something dreamer searching for her place in the world. The movie explores her limited options and talent in a world filled with limitations in glorious black and white. It's a nice touch. While the pathetic Frances Ha won't grow on you, her movie eventually does.

Gerwig -- by the way -- is really terrific in title role.
