Suspicious salesman reported in Kennewick

Tri-City HeraldMay 7, 2014

Kennewick police got more reports of a suspicious man going door to door claiming to be conducting water tests.

Some residents in east Kennewick called police after hearing media reports about a man claiming to be with the city and wanting to enter a woman's home to do a water test.

The residents told police a man said he was working for a company called "Aqua Clean" and was trying to sell them a water filtration system.

Police are not sure if the cases are connected but it appears the person is targeting Spanish speakers, police said.

No one with a company called "Aqua Clean" is licensed by the city. The city requires companies, including door-to-door sales, to be licensed.

Anyone who has had contact with the man is asked to call police at 628-0333.
