Post office to collect food Saturday around Tri-Cities

By The Tri-City HeraldMay 6, 2014

The U.S. Postal Service's letter carriers will collect food along with mail on Saturday for the 22nd annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive across the nation.

To participate, leave a bag of nonperishable food where letter carriers normally deliver mail on Saturday. The collected food will be delivered to a local food bank and given to Tri-City area families in need.

Last year, Americans donated more than 74 million pounds of food, the 10th consecutive year that at least 70 million pounds were collected.

For more information, ask your letter carrier, contact the local post office or go to www.nalc.org/commun/foodrive/index.html.
