Former Seattle mayor to speak at WSU Tri-Cities graduation

A former mayor of Seattle will be the keynote speaker at Washington State University Tri-Cities’ commencement Saturday at the Toyota Center.

More than 200 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremony, a release said. Norman Rice, who served as Seattle’s mayor from 1990 to 1997 and is now president of the Seattle Foundation, will speak before graduates receive their diplomas.

Admission to the ceremony is free and the general public, as well as friends and family of graduates, are invited to attend. The event begins at 1 p.m. and is expected to last about 90 minutes.
