Tri-City HeraldMay 4, 2014

A 17-year-old was injured in a rollover accident early Sunday after a police chase in Pasco, officials said.

The Pasco boy, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was driving at 2:45 a.m., going eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 182, trying to get away from law enforcement, according to a Washington State Patrol news release. He tried to exit at Road 68, but lost control of the 2002 Toyota Camry he was driving, causing it to roll over, WSP said.

The teen, the only person in the car, was taken by ambulance to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WSP said.

He was wearing a seatbelt, WSP said. The car was totaled.
